Care
Comfort and Fit
Our sheepskin, wool and leather slippers mould to your feet, so please ensure that they are a snug fit, as this allows for the natural ‘bedding down’ of the wool. Wool holds up to thirty percent of its own weight in moisture, providing warmth in winter and coolness in summer, letting your feet breathe.
Care and Cleaning
We recommend you use the Kowhai Water Shield to protect your suede and sheepskin products. Follow the directions on the label to ensure maximum effectiveness. Please note that our Water Shield can help prevent or reduce stains but it can not be guaranteed to block all stains.
Please follow our cleaning recommendations. Although the cleaning methods will help to keep clean and prolong the life of the item, they are not guaranteed to remove all stains or prevent the natural life of the item.
Suede: We recommend you waterproof your footwear with Kowhai Water Shield before wearing. If cleaning is required, use a damp cloth to sponge off stains. When dry, lightly brush with a soft brush in one direction only. Dry in the shade and brush when dry.
Sheepskin: We recommend you waterproof your footwear with Kowhai Water Shield before using. Sheepskin can be brushed with a stiff brush to look like new. If cleaning is required, use cool water and dishwashing detergent; try not to over wet the slippers. Rinse off with cool water and dry in the shade, brush when dry.
Woolpile: Woolpile should be treated in the same way as sheepskin when cleaning.
Calfskin: Keep clean by brushing regularly with a stiff brush and sponging off any dirt with a damp cloth.
Goatskin: Keep clean by brushing regularly with a stiff brush and sponging off any dirt with a damp cloth.
Possum: Keep clean by brushing regularly with a stiff brush and sponging off any dirt with a damp cloth
